Analytics

We use Google Analytics 4 through Firebase Analytics in order to understand aggregate usage patterns and improve the experience that we offer. None of the information we collect through Analytics is used to identify you personally.

The information we track through Google Analytics is used in aggregate/statistical form. We cannot know anything about you specifically from these reports. We may track information such as country and city data about our visitors, along with general behavior inside the app and website (for example: how they found the app, the pages they visit and the buttons they click). We do not track gender, age group, interests, or other similar demographic/profile categories.

Google Analytics may use cookies or similar browser identifiers. These may typically include:

_ga_#: Used to distinguish individual users by means of designation of a randomly generated number as client identifier, which allows calculation of visits and sessions.

_ga: Records a particular ID used to come up with data about website usage by the user. It is a HTTP cookie that may expire after 2 years.

The relevant policies are maintained by Google. More information is available here: Privacy and Security in Firebase, Google's privacy policy for partners and Cookie usage on websites.

Our custom cookies, Local Storage & similar browser storage

The application may store bits of information in your browser (for example under Local Storage / Session Storage). This data is kept in your browser in order to run the application correctly according to your preferences (for example: theme, UI preferences or other non-sensitive app settings). We do not receive or read these values unless they are explicitly synced through your account (see below).

Information we collect when you sign in and use an account

Authentication is implemented using Google Firebase. In most cases, the only personal data that we need and have regular access to is your email address, which is used to associate your LifeMe data with your account so the application can retrieve it when you sign in.

Firebase (which handles authentication) may store or show your name and/or profile picture to you (depending on your provider), but we do not rely on them for the normal operation of the app. We may obtain access only if there is a specific reason (for example, to investigate a support request or address abuse). We do not share your personal information with anyone.

When you use LifeMe features that save data, the application stores the content you create and related metadata (for example timestamps). Depending on what you choose to use, this may include items like life reviews/ratings, projects, goals, kanban tasks, notes or other information you enter in the app.

Important: if you enter personal, private or confidential information in free-text fields, that is your choice and responsibility.

LifeMe uses Firebase Firestore to store and retrieve your data. Firebase may also store cookies or other pieces of data in your browser to serve these functions (for example, to keep you signed in).

More information on Firebase's privacy policy is available here: https://firebase.google.com/support/privacy.
