πŸ’‘ Core Concepts

🧭 Life Categorization

LifeMe uses a stable categorization to help you think clearly:

  • Sections (the big areas of life)
  • Categories (sub-areas inside each section)
  • Activities (concrete aspects you can improve with actions/projects/habits)

You will see these same life areas across Reviews, Focus/Actions, the Kanban board, and Projects.

βš–οΈ Importance vs Satisfaction

You rate each life area on two dimensions:

  • Importance: How much this matters to you (independent of current performance).
  • Satisfaction: How satisfied you are with your current state.

Both are rated on a simple 1–4 scale. You can update your ratings at any time.

Level 3 β€” Activities

Each Category contains several Activities. For example:

  • Health might include: Nutrition, Physical activity, Sleep, etc.
  • Career might include: Work skills, Professional profile, Network and mentors, etc.

You can find the full list of Activities in the review pages.

Projects and Habits

Finally, you can manage your projects and habits within each activity to make progress and build routines.

πŸ“ Basic Review (Importance + Satisfaction)

This is the starting point. It gives LifeMe enough signal to identify where you should focus.

Step 1: Review Importance

Go to Review: Importance.

  • Rate how important each Category is to you.
  • Do not think about your current performance β€” only importance.
  • When you are satisfied, tick "I have completed the Importance review".

Step 2: Review Satisfaction

Go to Review: Satisfaction.

  • Rate your current satisfaction for each Category.
  • It is fine to not care about some categories β€” satisfaction is about your current state, not importance.
  • When you are satisfied, tick "I have completed the Satisfaction review".

βœ… After these two steps, your Dashboard will show your review status and highlight what to do next.

🎯 Focus Areas & Next Actions

LifeMe turns your Basic Review into this output:

πŸ” Where to focus (Categories)

Go to Where to focus in life. This page lists your top Categories that need attention, along with the calculated focus level.

πŸ”¬ Detailed Review (Activities)

The Detailed Review goes one level deeper: instead of rating only Categories, you rate Activities. This can make your Actions and planning more precise.

Detailed Importance

Go to Review: Importance (detailed). Rate the importance of each Activity.

Detailed Satisfaction

Go to Review: Satisfaction (detailed). Rate the satisfaction for each Activity.

πŸ’‘ Tip: If you are new, do not overthink this. Start with the Basic Review, take action for a week, and then refine with the Detailed Review.

βœ… Areas for action (Activities)

Go to Areas for action. This page lists Activities where taking action would likely have the biggest impact.

πŸ“‹ The Life Kanban

The Kanban board helps you track which Activities you are actively working on. Go to My Life's Kanban.

  • The board has multiple columns (for example: To Do / In Progress / Done).
  • You can drag and drop items between columns.
  • The "Available Actions" list is your pool of candidate Activities to pull into the board.

A simple approach:

  1. Pick 1–3 items from "Available Actions".
  2. Move them to "In Progress".
  3. When you feel the area is stable, move them to "Done" and pick the next item.

🎯 Projects & Habits

Projects and Habits are optional, but useful when you want to define a concrete outcome and track it. They can be linked to a Life Area (Section β†’ Category β†’ Activity).

πŸ“Š Overview

Go to All Projects & Habits. From there you can open an existing item or create a new one.

βž• Create a new Project or Habit

Go to Create New Project or Habit.

✏️ Edit an existing Project or Habit

From the overview page, open an item to edit it. The editor auto-saves changes (title, goal, notes, status, etc.).

πŸ‘€ Account & Data

You can start using LifeMe without creating an account. If you sign in with Google, your data can be saved to the cloud so you can access it from other devices.

  • No account: you can explore and do reviews, but some features may be limited depending on device/browser storage.
  • With account: Projects & Habits require login (you may be redirected to the login page if you are signed out).

πŸ’‘ Practical Tips

  • Do the Basic Review quickly the first time. The value comes from acting on it, not perfect ratings.
  • Revisit your ratings monthly or when your life changes (new job, move, relationship change, health shift).
  • Focus on a small number of actions at a time (1–3). Too many β€œin progress” items usually means no real progress.
  • Use Projects for outcomes, Habits for behaviors, and the Kanban to keep your "now" list small.

❓ FAQ

Do I need an account?

Not to explore the app and do reviews. To use Projects & Habits, you need to sign in.

Can I change my review ratings later?

Yes. Reviews are designed to be updated as your priorities and life circumstances change.

What should I do if I am not sure about a rating?

Pick your best estimate and continue. LifeMe is meant to guide direction, not to be a perfect measurement tool. If you are unsure between two levels, choose the lower one and refine later.
